In this role, you will directly contribute to to large scale technological keyparts in wet chemical application, conveying differentiation on key-technology and cost efficiency. 

What you’ll do

  • Lead the end-to-end development, scale-up, and commercialization of innovative polymer and resin systems for semiconductor equipment using additive manufacturing. 
  • Design, formulate, and experimentally develop novel organic and polymeric materials (e.g., UV-curable resins) for additive manufacturing (AM) technologies such as DLP, SLA, SLS, and MJP. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and international teams to select toll manufacturers and manage the transition of chemical formulations from bench scale to pilot and full-scale industrial production, including development of quality control plans. 
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the selection of AM materials, processes, and vendors for sourcing polymer and ceramic parts used in the semiconductor industry. 
  • Demonstrate strong technical leadership and problem-solving capabilities by defining problems, establishing objectives, assessing risks, developing technical approaches, analyzing results, and delivering actionable recommendations. 
  • Partner closely with legal teams to generate and oversee the AM intellectual property (IP) portfolio.
  • Act as the primary advocate and technical leader for AM adoption across the WETS organization. 
  • Collaborate with design engineers to develop AM “recipes” that transition parts from design through production. 
  • Develop, release, and maintain AM process and material specifications to ensure product quality, build qualification, and acceptance criteria. 
  • Provide high-level technical training and mentorship to product engineers and junior scientists in polymer chemistry and additive manufacturing technologies. 

Who we’re looking for

 

•    Act as the primary advocate and technical leader for AM adoption across the WETS organization. 
•    Collaborate with design engineers to develop AM “recipes” that transition parts from design through production. 
•    Develop, release, and maintain AM process and material specifications to ensure product quality, build qualification, and acceptance criteria. 
•    Provide high-level technical training and mentorship to product engineers and junior scientists in polymer chemistry and additive manufacturing technologies. 

Preferred qualifications

•    Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams. 
•    Knowledge of AM ceramic slurry formulation and ceramic printing technologies. 
•    Working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D and 5 Whys. 

What we're Offering

 

This position is subject to the Austrian Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for Employees in the Metal Technology Industry in the occupation group G. A higher paymentis negotiable depending on education, expertise and skills. The monthly salary is paid 14 times per year.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
