
Senior Accountant
Job Description
Position Summary
The Senior Accountant is a key member of the Finance Department, responsible for managing and overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and local tax regulations, and supporting strategic decision-making. This role reports to the Accounting Supervisor and may supervise junior accounting staff. The Senior Accountant collaborates with cross-functional teams, including Tax, Operations, and Audit, and serves as a resource for financial analysis, reporting, and process improvement.
Duties
Key Responsibilities
70% Financial Reporting & Compliance
• Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP/IFRS and local regulations.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, posting journal entries and adjustments as needed.
• Coordinate and participate in month-end and year-end close processes.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare documentation and support for external and internal audits.
• Maintain confidentiality and safeguard financial information.
5% Tax & Regulatory
• Prepare and review tax accruals, payments, and related journal entries. (including payroll, social security, and local/state taxes).
• Respond to inquiries from tax authorities and support corporate tax matters.
10 % Analysis & Process Improvement
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Provide financial analysis and forecasting to support budgeting and strategic planning.
• Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
10% Team Leadership & Collaboration
• Supervise and mentor junior accountants, providing guidance and training as needed.
• Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Operations, Tax, IT) to ensure accurate financial reporting and data integrity.
• Liaise with external auditors, consultants, and other financial professionals.
5 % Other Duties
• Support special projects, mergers, acquisitions, and other business initiatives as assigned.

Required Experience
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field .
• Minimum 8 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or services.
• Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations (GAAP/IFRS).
• Experience with ERP systems (Oracle preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Experience supervising or mentoring accounting staff.
• High level of integrity, dependability, and attention to detail.
