JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION SUMMARY: Forklift Operator 0003 - Goodlettsville Case Ready DC
Schedule/Hours: Wed-Sat 6pm to 6AM
Pay: $22.10/HR
This position is responsible for product movement within the facility and/or loading product for shipment. This position is responsible for operating machinery and maintaining ongoing production flow while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Must be able and willing to place and/or retrieve finished boxed product from coolers, trailers, and the production floor using a battery-powered forklift.
- Must be able and willing to break down and/or stack products on wooden pallets to form complete pallets.
- Must be able and willing to remove boxes of finished product from one pallet and place them onto other pallets to build full pallets.
- Team members are encouraged to dress appropriately before arriving at their workstation.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Must be able and willing to lift, carry, push, and pull finished boxed products weighing between 5 and 80 pounds.
- Must be able and willing to lift and move wooden pallets weighing approximately 65 to 75 pounds.
- Must be able and willing to perform heavy lifting throughout the work shift.
- Must be able and willing to grasp and handle products using a bilateral full-hand grip when stacking and unstacking boxes and moving pallets.
- Must be able and willing to use a full-hand grip with the dominant hand to operate a forklift.
- Must be able and willing to stand on a forklift platform covered with a non-slip coating and stand and walk on cement floors when not operating equipment.
- Must be able and willing to bend at the waist while retrieving pallets and stacking or unstacking finished boxed products.
- Must be able and willing to use moderate force while performing job duties.
- Must be able and willing to use both hands simultaneously to perform essential job functions.
- Must be able and willing to work with pallet heights ranging from approximately 8 inches to 7 feet.
- Must be able and willing to work in temperatures ranging from approximately 28°F to 32°F.
