Job Description
Incoming Quality Control (IQC) Technicians is responsible for the;
- Evaluation and sampling of all incoming chemical raw materials, components and labels.
- Ensures proper sampling technique is performed, and all activities are documented in accordance to GMP/GDP.
- Submits samples to the QC laboratory for analyses and monitors completion of activities.
- Cleans and maintains sampling utensils and workstations. Arranges to replenish items and keep adequate inventory levels for IQC activities.
- Coordinates staging of materials for sampling with warehouse staff.
- Ensures prioritization of sampling to meet production demands.
- Performs assessment and quality release or hold of all chemical raw materials, components and
- labels.
- Completes and archives documents in accordance to company standards.
- Liaises with the suppliers as required & completes all associated documentation to ensure that all standards & product specification requirements are met.
- Adhere to all Company policies and procedures for GMP, GDP and health and safety, including donning health and safety personal protective equipment as outlined in the health and safety manual.
- Identify and report any hazard(s), accidents, and injuries requiring first aid, health care, lost-time injuries, occupational diseases or incidents in the workplace.
- Provides guidance/training as required.
Incoming Chemical Raw Materials
- Responsible for inspection of incoming chemical raw materials for physical damage, contamination, correct labeling, etc. and adhering to established SOP’s for reporting and handling damaged goods
- Verify container information against the COA and ensure that the correct WHIMS information is present on the containers
- Responsible for preparing and obtaining composite aseptic samples on all incoming chemical raw materials
- Complete labeling process - affix the QA printed release labels to the correct chemical once it has been released
- Verify all labels (Receiver and QA) match that of the supplier labels
- Compare the COA with Receiver stamp information for lot number and quantity received, to what was entered into the SAP module for accuracy and completeness
- Adhere to the sampling process by ensuring all loose packaging materials are removed from containers and disposed of appropriately and the tops of the containers are cleaned
- Responsible for storing or arranging for storing of all chemical raw materials after applying QA release labels
- Perform statistical sampling of incoming packaging materials (containers, caps, labels, shippers, etc)
- Inspect/test to ensure label/component specific requirements are met & completed.
- Record results on a timely basis.
- Ensure packaging meets Industry, Customer, QA & Apollo standards.
- Perform testing & complete documentation requirements.
- Ensure that all test results are within specification
- Issue & co-ordinate corrective action(s) as appropriate when required.
- Generate reports as required including On-Hold & Rejection reports.
- Operate & maintain various instruments for conducting required tasks of this position.
- Ensure standards & supplies are maintained.
- Implement Test Protocols & Technical Procedures, as needed.
- Prioritize workload to insure all turnaround times are met.
- Interact with internal & external clients in a professional manner, including resolution of vendor product non-conformances events.
- Prepare & review written technical reports.
- Perform technical problem resolution as needed.
- Maintain packaging retain sampling system.
- Monitor specification requirements of products.
- Report any problems & or concerns to the QC Manager for corrective action.
- Train new IQC staff as required.
- Maintain an orderly filing system.
- Adhere to all QA and Company policies and procedures including health and safety.
- Follow all procedures and wear personal protective equipment as outlined in the health and safety manual.

- Use equipment, materials and machinery only as authorized.
