Associate / Senior Associate, Banking & Finance – Debt Capital Markets and Fund Finance
Your role
You'll be a part of our Banking & Finance team and work with lawyers across all of our offices. Working closely with our Partners and the wider team, you will gain exposure to the most complex and interesting transactions in the market.
At Allens, our structure means you'll get exposure to a number of different Partners within your practice group and a wide variety of work. We encourage our lawyers to find their niche and specialise in areas they're interested in, while building a strong foundation across their field.
We're particularly interested in lawyers with debt capital markets and fund finance experience to support growing client needs. As an Associate / Senior Associate, you will work on:
Debt capital markets transactions, including the issuance of securities and structured products
Fund finance matters across funds management platforms, including subscription and NAV facilities
Derivatives transactions, including equity derivatives, commodity derivatives, credit derivatives and structured derivatives
Advising on regulatory changes impacting financial markets and transactions
Drafting and negotiating transaction documentation, including derivatives and finance documents
General banking & finance arrangements such as acquisition, leverage, property, and project finance
This is a permanent, full-time opportunity. At Allens we have a hybrid working structure, typically 60% in the office and 40% from home. We would be happy to discuss any other flexible working arrangements that best support you.
About you
We welcome applications from lawyers trained in leading Australian, New Zealand, UK, US or other offshore firms.
You will have:
Experience in a leading debt capital markets, derivatives or funds practice, with exposure to securities, structured transactions or funds management
The ability to support transactions effectively and manage competing priorities to progress matters
Confidence working with partners, senior lawyers and clients as part of a broader team
Experience advising clients on transactions
An interest in developing a long‑term specialism across debt capital markets, fund finance or derivatives
A desire to learn, grow, network, mentor others
