· Base Pay Range: $31.26 - $46.10 per hour, based on experience

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

· Perform initial patient screening for urgency/prioritization of procedures upon receiving referral. Collaborate with inpatient nursing, primary, and specialty care providers to establish a plan of care. Provide anticoagulation education including discontinuation and bridging of medications. Perform screening for sedation procedures.

· Contact patient insurance companies, schedule peer-to-peer for prior authorization, submit appeals, and provide GFE for complex procedures. Coordinate with vendor representatives for scheduled cases as needed. Assess the patient's condition and nursing needs, set goals, and prescribe appropriate nursing actions to meet those goals and the physical, psychological, social, and rehabilitative needs of the patient, including discharge planning.

· Assess, intervene, and reassess the patient's self-report/symptoms of pain promptly. Utilize an appropriate tool for assessment and reassessment (0-10 numerical scale, FACES, or the FLACC.) Demonstrate an understanding of medications with regard to action and side effects. Report pertinent information to the appropriate individual. Educate patients and significant others about their medications. Demonstrates the ability to evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions in accomplishing goals and intended patient care outcomes.

· Maintain the standards of nursing care and implement the policies and procedures of the hospital and assigned nursing unit. Participate in meetings, in-services, and quality and performance improvement groups. Maintain a full understanding of the attendance and punctuality guidelines and adherence to the dress code. Report pertinent observations and reactions regarding patients to the appropriate person (i.e. physicians, head nurse, charge nurse, or nursing supervisor) and record those observations accurately and concisely.

· Provide quality care to patients and work with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure the highest patient satisfaction. May complete unit/department-specific duties as outlined in department documents.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days.

· One (1) year of RN experience. Use bullet points for each new requirement

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· One (1) year of experience working with patients in ambulatory care.

· Three (3) years of RN experience.

· Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. The performance of these physical demands is an essential function of the job. When working in clinic, this position may be very active and require ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs. This role also routinely may come into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Work during inclement weather will be required.
