Shipping Clerk

Position Summary

Mainstream Engineering is seeking a responsible individual to handle activities relating to the shipment and delivery of finished goods and other materials. Typical duties include:

• Assembling and packaging product orders for shipment
• Ensuring shipments are scheduled and delivered in a timely manner
• Recording all data relevant to shipments and interfacing with shipping and accounting software
• Maintaining shipping documents and data in organized manner
• Evaluating problems and making recommendations for possible corrective action
• Supporting Receiving and Inventory as needed including physical movement of raw materials and finished goods
• Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred
• 2+ years of Shipping experience 
• Experience with UPS or FedEx shipping software 
• Experience with LTL shipments 
• Dangerous Goods Shipping Certification DOT/IATA/IMDG preferred
• Excellent communication skills verbal and written English
• Knowledge of commonly used shipping, receiving and logistics concepts, practices and procedures used in both domestic and international freight shipments
• Excellent organization skills are required
• Good analytical skills are preferred
• Working knowledge of Sage 100 is preferred
• High proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
• Experience with shipping hazardous materials helpful
• Ability to regularly lift up to 60 lbs.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
