Job Description
The Junior IT Functional Consultant supports business users and IT teams by helping translate business requirements into functional IT solutions. This role assists in system analysis, documentation, testing, and user support to ensure applications meet business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in gathering and documenting business and functional requirements
Support senior analysts in translating business needs into functional specifications
Participate in system configuration, testing, and validation activities
Help analyze and troubleshoot functional issues in business applications
Assist with test case preparation
Maintain documentation such as process flows, functional specs, and user guides
Coordinate with technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders
Monitor system performance and report functional gaps or improvement opportunities
Required Skills & Competencies:
Understanding of business processes and IT systems
Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good communication and documentation skills
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Basic knowledge of databases, ERP, CRM, or enterprise applications
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Management, or related field
0–2 years of experience in IT, business analysis, or functional support roles
Exposure to ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, etc.) is a plus
Basic SQL or data analysis knowledge
Experience with documentation tools or ticketing systems (JIRA, ServiceNow) is a plus
