Job Summary:
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for developing and managing maintenance schedules that support safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations. This role involves planning, coordinating, and tracking preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities. The planner works closely with Maintenance Supervisors, Reliability Engineers, inventory teams, contractors, and external vendors to minimize downtime, ensure compliance, and optimize resource utilization. Strong proficiency in CMMS and SAP systems is essential, with a focus on data-driven planning and computer-based workflow management.
Shift: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:00pm
What you will be doing
- Create, prioritize and maintain the master maintenance schedule (short-term and shutdown/planned long-term).
- Review pending work orders in CMMS and plan/assign them according to priority: Safety, Legal Compliance, Production, Quality, Downtime, PM Compliance.
- Produce 2-week execution plan considering manpower, manhours and equipment availability.
- Full-kitting coordination with Stores/Store Tech for daily planned tasks and shutdown tasks (material counts, BOM verification, parts kitting).
- Plan and schedule predictive maintenance activities with external vendors (e.g., I-care, GT Woods) and internal reliability teams.
- Prepare maintenance job packs: scope, materials list, tools, permits, risk assessments, required PPE and attachments.
- Maintain and update computerized maintenance systems (CMMS): work order creation, execution tracking, closure with required data/attachments and legal records.
- Build and maintain Bills of Material (BOM) and equipment nomenclature/descriptions in asset registry (MVP or equivalent).
- Coordinate workflow with production and other departments to ensure safe execution and minimal disruption.
- Support contractor management (daily/weekly coordination, scope, safety, and performance oversight) including during shutdowns.
- Assist in shutdown planning and execution: resource scheduling, contractor scopes, kitting, and execution monitoring.
- Run weekly planning review meetings with cross-functional teams to align upcoming work and priorities.
- Raise awareness and ensure compliance with Health & Safety objectives and company PPE standards. Attend required training.
What will make you successful?
Required Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma required.
- 3-5 years of experience with contractors and planning required.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- Associated degree preferred.
- CMRT OR CRMP certification preferred
- Strong proficiency in CMMS and SAP systems.
- Experience with contractor coordination during shutdowns.
- Familiarity with predictive maintenance vendors and outsourcing coordination (e.g., vibration, thermography).
- Experience with CCPM (Critical Chain Project Management).
- Past exposure to safety/permitting processes and legal compliance record-keeping.
