We are seeking a University Recruiter to own and drive GrayMatter’s Launch Lab university recruiting program, our structured approach to attracting, engaging, and hiring early-in-career talent from targeted universities across the US. This role is central to building the next generation of GrayMatter associates, and requires someone who thrives on relationships, operates with precision, and genuinely enjoys being on campus.
This is a fully remote position based in the United States, with regular travel to campus events during the peak recruiting seasons.
General Job Duties:
- Own and execute the full university recruiting cycle, from workforce planning through offer acceptance
- Build and manage relationships with career centers, faculty, student organizations, and campus contacts at target partner schools
- Plan, register for, and coordinate all campus recruiting events including career fairs, information sessions, classroom presentations, and on-campus interview days
- Manage the university candidate pipeline, ensuring all candidates apply through the correct requisitions and are moved through the process accurately
- Partner with internal leadership to align hiring targets, define roles, and confirm recruiting timelines each cycle and build university recruiting strategy based on business needs
- Train, prepare, and support campus teams including, Campus Managers, campus team members, and Executive Sponsors, before each recruiting season
- Activity source and screen candidates to present to hiring managers
- Schedule and coordinate interviews, collect feedback within defined timelines, and manage the offer process from approval to acceptance
- Serve as the primary GrayMatter contact for university career centers and student organizations at assigned schools
- Track and report on recruiting metrics including applications per school, interview-to-offer conversion, offer acceptance rates, cost per hire, and event ROI
- Collaborate with the Marketing team on campus branding materials, booth design, social content, and student-facing presentations
- Coordinate with Campus Ambassadors, intern conversions, and returning interns, to amplify GrayMatter’s presence on campus
- Produce an end-of-season program recap with insights and recommendations for the next university recruiting cycle
- Support non-university recruiting roles off cycle as needed
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 2 - 4 years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with at least 1 - 2 years focused on university or early-in-career recruiting
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple university relationships and recruiting timelines simultaneously
- Experience planning and executing campus events, including career fairs, information sessions, and interview days
- Proficiency with an ATS or HRIS platform for requisition and candidate management (experience with Paycor a plus)
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with confidence presenting to students, faculty, and senior business leaders
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines across a structured recruiting calendar
- Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and virtual collaboration tools
- Ability to travel regularly during the fall recruiting season (up to 80%), with occasional travel throughout the year
Preferred:
- Experience in a corporate or in-house recruiting function, particularly in engineering, manufacturing, or industrial technology sectors
- Familiarity with Handshake or other university-specific sourcing platforms
- Experience building or scaling a university recruiting program from the ground up
- Comfort working with internal stakeholders to assess candidate fit
- Experience designing or facilitating recruiter or hiring manager training
Salary range for this position is $53,000–$63,000, based on relevant qualifications and location.
