Effective for the 2026 - 2027 school year, a vacancy for a Health Career Pathways Instructor exists within the Division of Career, Technical, & Customized Education at the Technical College High School, Brandywine Campus.

Qualifications:

  • Possess a valid PDE Vocational I or II certificate (Career and Technical Health Assistant 7-12) or be willing to enroll in a certification program
  • (i.) Currently licensed as an RN in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania OR (ii.) possess any license/certification as a healthcare professional who has a minimum of a Bachelor's degree AND is currently licensed/certified in their field of practice OR (iii.) is currently a licensed Practical Nurse and be willing to take and pass the Occupational Competency Assessment.
  • 4 years of industry experience and expertise required
  • Current FBI fingerprints, PA State Police, and Child Abuse clearances, dated within one year

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide quality and rigorous occupational instruction to secondary career and technical students to prepare them for a successful career path in healthcare
  • Program development and modify curriculum to stay relevant
  • Implement lesson plans and hands-on activities in the content area that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of each student
  • Support students in learning industry standard procedures for patient safety while demonstrating direct patient care skills
  • Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning
  • Evaluate students' academic and social growth, keep accurate records, and prepare progress reports
  • Collaborate with school-based staff on common course planning, integration, and alignment
  • Participate in professional development activities and maintain appropriate professional certificate(s) and licenses as required
  • Remain current in educational programs related to content area while providing the best educational experience possible for students
  • Perform other duties, as assigned


Schedule: 

  • 10 months (194 days)
  • Monday - Friday, 7.5 hours per day

Salary Range (2026- 2027 School Year):

  • $62,155 - $89,730 - Instructional I Certification
  • $64,834 - $93,324 - Instructional II Certification
  • $66,195 - $97,616- Voc II + 15
  • $69,353 - $101,911 - Master's Degree
  • $72,740 - $105,924- Master's + 15
  • $74,415 - $107,845 - Master's + 30

Placement on the scale is directly based on years of experience and certification level/education level
