Systems Development Manager - AVP - Application Engineering - IT

Job Summary:

Applications is responsible for the design, implementation, and application support of HKEX’s market systems, including trading, market data, clearing and settlement, listing systems as well as our internal corporate and surveillance systems. Applications make up several specialised teams that have in-depth technology knowhow to support the on-going maintenance, troubleshooting, enhancements and the development of next generation HKEX platforms.

Job Duties:

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead the software development within the Application Engineering department

• Responsible for system analysis, architecture design and development of the systems

• Produce project deliverables such as functional specifications, design documents and test plans

• Collaborate with business and technology teams to collect system requirements

• Provide production support including out of working hour support responsibility

• Assess technological risk and drive actions for mitigation

• Establish technical excellence and follow industry best practices

• Uphold compliance with organization policies and standards

Job Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science, IT or related disciplines

• Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience, preferred in Financial Services/ Banking sectors

• Solid skills in Java, web and network programming; C/C++ and Go knowledge are nice to have

• Experienced in project and people management for development of large scale systems

• Good understanding of DevOps process and tooling

• Good understanding of requirements management, contracting/outsourcing management and technology trends

• Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication and people management skills
