Job Description
The IFS Monitoring & Logging System Engineer is responsible for providing support and technical assistance to the Monitoring & Logging platform for all integrated cloud products and services.
Role and Primary Responsibilities
The Engineer, as a member of the Unified Support Monitoring & Logging team, is responsible for the management and maintenance of the Monitoring and Logging Platforms – including onboarding, training, upgrading, and other tasks related to the management of the platform. This is a dynamic role - the monitoring, logging, and observability space at IFS is always evolving and a positive attitude and ability patiently solve complex problems is a must.
Responsibilities include:
Deploy, manage, maintain, and support the monitoring and logging platforms
Ensure monitoring and logging implementations adhere to best practices
Maintain standards with regards to product integrations into the platforms
Assist with development rollout of new features within the platforms
Complete other tasks and projects as assigned by manager
A Successful Candidate will have experience in the following technologies:
Experience in Cloud infrastructure administration
Microsoft Azure, especially IaaS, PaaS (Security, VMs, Networking, etc)
Familiarity with basic networking terms and concepts
Scripting Skills in BASH, Python, and/or Powershell
Experience with REST APIs / Web services
Fundamental understanding of Databases, Web Servers, and related services
Fundamental understanding of Prometheus monitoring and Elastic logging platforms
Logging/Monitoring Technologies and Processes (queries, thresholds, alerting, management)
Understanding of Kubernetes and Azure AKS
Understanding of Helm, Terraform, Ansible, and CDCI is a bonus
