As a Registered Nurse in Mother Baby and Antepartum, you will deliver evidence-based, family-centered care within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment in a Magnet-recognized Academic Medical Center known for innovation, quality, and clinical advancement.
The Role
In this dynamic and patient-focused environment, you will care for postpartum mothers, newborns, and antepartum patients with varying levels of acuity. You will work closely with obstetricians, neonatologists, lactation consultants, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes.
On a typical day, you will:
Provide comprehensive nursing care to postpartum mothers and newborns, including assessments, medication administration, and patient education
Support antepartum patients requiring monitoring, stabilization, and specialized interventions
Promote and facilitate breastfeeding, bonding, and newborn care education
Collaborate with physicians and care teams to coordinate individualized care plans
Monitor patient status, recognize changes in condition, and respond with clinical precision
Document care accurately while maintaining regulatory and quality standards
Engage with families to provide emotional support and education during their care journey
This role offers a balance of routine postpartum care and higher acuity antepartum cases, creating a clinically engaging and professionally rewarding environment.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire.
Experience: 1 year of relevant experience.
Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling, bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
The starting base rate for this role is $39.90 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.Benefits
