Batch Plant Maintenance

The entry-level Batch Plant Maintenance associate works as part of a team to maintain equipment to produce and deliver acceptable quality concrete to meet production schedules.      RESPONSIBILITIES  Check rollers on both structural and architectural conveyors and change when needed.  Clean structural and architectural pits.  Repair air hoses as needed.  Switch out paddles and adjust when needed on the mixers.  Grease and maintain all equipment.  Perform a daily visual inspection of batch plant to identify when equipment is not functioning properly and correct errors.  Housekeeping as necessary to maintain Batch Plant, work area, tools and equipment in a clean and orderly manner.  Must adhere to all Metromont and OSHA safety rules and regulations.     SCOPE OF AUTHORITY  Highly supervised  Tasks are typically assigned  Works as a member of a team  Reports to Batch Plant Concrete Delivery Supervisor or Batch Plant Concrete Delivery Manager, depending on location     CHARACTERISTICS (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)  Highly dependable with strong work ethic  Able to read a tape measure preferred  Able to use standard construction tools preferred  Able to read blueprints preferred  Able to operate heavy machinery  Able to work on a team  Able to understand and follow verbal instructions  Attention to detail and accuracy  Eager to learn  Able to adapt to changes in work schedules, tasks, or processes  Values and demonstrates safe working behaviors   EDUCATION AND TECHNOLOGY     High school diploma or equivalent preferred No previous computer experience needed                 TITLE: Batch Plant Maintenance                              CREATED: 04/24/2024 ITEM TYPE: Job Description STATUS: PUBLISHED REVISED: 04/24/2024 OWNER: Human Resources STATUS EFF DATE: 04/24/2024   Page 1 of 2   JOB DESCRIPTION                                                                            WORK ENVIRONMENT / SCHEDULE  Sheltered, outdoor environment  Work area is not climate controlled and may be exposed to changing weather and temperature conditions  Schedule varies with workload and location  Unscheduled overtime may be required depending on business needs     PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT (PPE)  Safety glasses         Hearing protection  High-visibility vest         Hard hat  Gloves (various types)          Steel-toed shoes  Respirator required for certain tasks     Safety harness may be required for certain tasks   PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS This position requires standing for long periods of time, lifting (up to 75 lbs.) and bending, repetitive motion with medium force, and an ability to frequently climb up to 15 feet above ground using stairs   Disclaimer: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
