Overview Logistec is seeking an Equipment Operator II responsible for safely operating a variety of heavy equipment and machinery used in the loading, unloading, and movement of cargo and materials within the port. This role plays a key part in ensuring the efficient handling of goods while complying with all port regulations, safety procedures, and operational standards. The ideal candidate will operate equipment such as wheeled loaders, excavators, ship loaders, Trackmobiles, manlifts, and forklifts. Take this opportunity and come do great things with us! Competitive compensation Comprehensive benefits package Opportunities for professional growth and career development Responsibilities What your day looks like as Equipment Operator II: Operate and maintain maritime equipment such as cranes, excavators, and loaders for the efficient handling of bulk cargo movement. Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and compliance with safety standards. Coordinate with terminal staff to optimize cargo flow and minimize delays. Load and unload bulk materials from vessels, trucks, and trains, ensuring proper handling and storage. Follow safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations. Maintain accurate records of cargo movements and equipment usage. Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor repairs as needed. Assist in training new operators and other terminal staff on equipment operation and safety procedures. Qualifications To succeed as Equipment Operator you must have: High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or training preferred. Ability to obtain a TWIC card required Proven experience operating heavy equipment, preferably in a maritime or bulk terminal environment. Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to maritime operations. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy loads and perform physically demanding tasks. Comfortable working in varying weather conditions and on elevated platforms. Why Logistec?
