These applications could be used for various areas in the business such as Planning, Combat Systems, Production Engineering, Field Service Engineering, Electrical Engineering and more!
- Originate, under the close supervision of a licensed P.Eng, routine or low complexity deliverables in an assigned job scope area.
- Review and raise comments against technical deliverables and products developed by internal & external stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within their job scope area and the broader Engineering discipline.
- Identify risks associated within their job scope area, their function, or the broader Engineering Discipline.

- Bachelor of Engineering (B. Eng.) or equivalent required.
- Understanding of how to apply standards applicable to role, with guidance - typically via 0-6 years of progressive experience.
- General awareness of shipyard disciplines (hull structure, ship arrangements, ship piping systems, propulsion, hvac, electrical, mechanical, producibility, manufacturing).
- Read blueprints, navigate within a 3D model and/or simulation of the ship.
- Develop or markup drawings, technical investigation and data analysis under supervision.
- Analytical problem solving under supervision; Develop presentations and reports.
- Verbal and written communication of standard issues to internal and external stakeholders.
- Comfortable observing and often participating in technical information sharing in cross-functional problem solving.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with managerial consultation.
Due to the nature of work Irving Shipbuilding does, all successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Please note this position requires a full-time, in-office presence at one of our four locations.
