Solving system-wide technical challenges takes a talented team of professionals at Dell Technologies. Our IT Network Development team has several technology responsibilities. We formulate and implement tactical plans for networked systems, build and manage solutions for current and future development and handle troubleshooting as needed.

We are seeking someone to help define the AI focused future of how network infrastructure automation is designed, built, and operated reliably. This role is for an experienced engineer who thrives at the intersection of AI, software engineering, IT infrastructure operations, and automation, and who takes pride in reducing toil, improving observability, reliability, and enabling rapid identification and resolution of issues that allows better service delivery and enables our teams to move faster.

You will:

• Define and evolve how AI transforms ways of working across the organization, including structure, productivity, and work tracking

• Design, implement, and maintain observability and SRE solutions using modern AI tools and technologies (Python, Ansible, etc.)

• Standardize and scale Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and establish best practices for reliability, observability, backup, and disaster recovery

• Diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure and automation issues across development and production environments

• Collaborate cross-functionally and mentor engineers while leveraging AI tools to enhance developer productivity, quality, and continuous improvement

Essential Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in software engineering, infrastructure automation, or IT operations, with strong Python expertise for automation and system integration

• Hands-on experience with Ansible (or similar tools), Linux/Unix administration, and solid networking fundamentals (DNS, TLS, routing, firewalls, load balancing)

• Proven track record with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), version-controlled workflows, and collaborative development using Git

• Experience leveraging AI-assisted coding tools, agents, and modern IDEs in day-to-day engineering work

• Strong system design, documentation, and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to operate confidently in production environments

Desirable Requirements

• Experience across cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP), containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD automation (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins), along with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)

• Knowledge of security and operations practices including secrets management, identity and access control, ITSM processes, and designing high-availability, disaster recovery solutions, with experience influencing technical standards and architecture
