
Medical Assistant - Outreach Administration
Job Description
Perform clinical support services, assist with secretarial/clerical duties and maintain patient care documentation in medical records.
ResponsibilitiesMaintains all patient care related documentation in patients' medical records in a timely manner. Verifies consistency and accuracy of clinical information entered into patient charts. Prepares charts, maintains and updates forms and prepares documentation paperwork. Maintains and monitors medical record documentation and filing. Correctly files all patient documentation verifying accuracy and completion of content. Responsible for various secretarial, clerical and receptionist activities. Answer phones, greet patients, and screen calls. Schedule patient appointments.
Assist with charge entry on a timely basis. Purchase and distribute office and medical supplies. Perform clinical support services within protocol and upon completion of proper training and competency evaluation. Assist medical providers with patient care services as requested. Perform health screenings (vision, blood pressure, weight and vitals), collect blood collection and/or phlebotomy blood collection for lab tests. Collect health risk appraisals and/or patient histories.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
HS graduate or equivalent required.
One to two years of formal medical assistant/nurse aide training or six months current full time experience in a clinical setting as a Medical Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, or CNA preferred.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider status is required upon hire
This is a PRN / As needed position with no benefits
Day shift: as needed between 8am - 5pm
Must be willing to go out into the community for events
No weekends or on call
