Job Description

Job Function Summary:

Involves the design and management of software, hardware and databases for a clinical imaging system(s), used in clinical practice and / or research. Supports a secured network for the transmission of patient information, workstations for interpreting and reviewing images, and archives for the storage and retrieval of images and reports. Provides technical training and assistance to users.

Generic Scope

Provides direct supervision typically to professionals or skilled technical employees. Functions as advisor to unit and administration. Analyzes and resolves problems, interprets policies (e.g., fiscal management, HR, contracts and grants, resource management in defined areas) and demonstrates solid subject matter knowledge. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action. Supervises staff to assure accountability and stewardship of department resources (operational, financial, and human) in compliance with departmental goals and objectives.

Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and the processes by which to attain them. Provides direction, sets priorities, and analyzes workflow for clinical applications subordinate staff, according to established policies and management guidance. Provides senior management with input on personnel matters and recommendations for changes to department policies and practices.

5 Recommends salary actions, terminations, performance ratings, discipline and other human resources matters
10 Interprets departmental and organizational objectives, policies, protocols, standards, personnel procedures, and regulatory compliance policies as they pertain to daily operations
10 Supervises, monitors, documents, and reports on new program development, including systems analysis, planning, programming, testing, deployment, and coordination between client and vendor
10 Oversees the support system for end users, which includes training users in application workflows and procedures, development of user aids and tools, troubleshooting and resolving user problems, and coordinating outside service and support as needed

40 Active engagement in advanced 3D imaging and post‑processing activities, in addition to supporting translational research of novel AI methodologies and facilitating their integration into clinical practice.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of Lead/Supervisory/Manager experience 
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and supervise a technical team and to manage the complex workflow and multiple priorities involved with clinical imaging.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical imaging operations, including methods, concepts, policies, procedures, programming, development, deployment, testing, training, troubleshooting, operating systems, medical terminology, and clinical workflows and processes.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with concepts, best practices, systems, technology, and regulations involved with clinical imaging systems, in order to provide effective supervision.
  • Ability to monitor, oversee, and document personnel matters, and to provide input to higher-level staff in making personnel decisions.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to convey program and technical information in a clear and concise manner to IT professionals, clinicians, customers, staff and vendors to promote optimal functionality.
  • Solid supervisory and coaching skills, including persuasiveness, active listening, and ability to provide advice and counseling.
  • Strong critical-thinking skills and ability to identify and quickly evaluate complex problems and identify solutions.
  • Strong computer skills in all relevant software, hardware and technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior management on operational and policy issues, with the skills to gather data, and prepare and present and reports on department operations and performance.
  • Strong knowledge of human resources practices and policies, with the ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and document staff activities and performance and contribute to decision-making on personnel matters.
  • Advanced knowledge of crosssectional imaging modalities, including CT, MRI, with a strong understanding of image acquisition parameters, reconstruction techniques, and modalityspecific artifacts.
  • Familiarity with AIenabled imaging tools and how they support clinical decisionmaking and patientcare workflows.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in biomedical engineering or a related field , or an MD.
