Pay Rate: $30.47

PURPOSE:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for completing daily work orders and troubleshooting equipment throughout the mill. The individual will also serve as a source for basic care and routine maintenance work. In this position, individuals will need to work as an independently and as a team to problem solve and replace/repair valves & gaskets, cylinders, rotating assemblies, motors and mechanical drive systems, as well as repack pumps and valves and repair and replace pumps.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: 

The key accountabilities listed below are not to be considered all-inclusive; a team member may be required to perform additional tasks, as directed, and based on changing business needs of the company. 

  • Responsible for completing the required TPC training curriculum assigned to the role

  • Complete and record equipment care rounds each shift

  • Inspecting and testing machines and equipment

  • Dismantling defective equipment and machines

  • Install new and repaired parts

  • Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers, wiring, electrical and electrical components of machines

  • Assemble/Install/Maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic/pneumatic equipment

  • Repair/Replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators and related equipment

  • Repair/Maintain physical structure of the facility

  • Champions safety efforts by modeling and maintaining an environment of safe work practices and proactive approach to safety management

  • Champions and fulfills area specific 5S expectations

     

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

 

  • Must be able to wear all required safety equipment.

  • Noise levels in excess of 90 dB

  • Heat in excess of 100°F occasionally

  • Working environment is 24/7—ability to be on-call as need and/or required

  • Ability to work on concrete, and periodically move equipment/tools weighing up to 50 pounds

     

KEY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Eligible for employment in the US
  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience
  • Basic computer skills
  • Able to function in a team environment.
  • AND one of the following
  • One (1) year experience in any of the following Maintenance Skill Areas: MILLWRIGHT, MACHINIST, LUBRICATION, WELDING, AUTOMOTIVE MAINTENANCE, OR PIPEFITTING.

    OR

  • One (1) year vocational/technical education in the Mechanical Discipline: MILLWRIGHT, MACHINIST, WELDING, OR PIPEFITTING.

 

Preferred 

  • Associate degree in any of the IP Core Maintenance skills or related disciplines. (Millwright, Machinist, Welding, OR Pipefitting)
  • Experience working in High-Performance Work System
  • Relevant work experience in an industrial environment
  • Fluent in SAP
  • Strong math/physics understanding
  • Millwright/machinist backgrounds on the mechanical side
  • Excellent mechanical/electrical aptitude
  • Ability to read/interpret schematics, blueprints, and ladder logic
