SMG seeks a Safety Escort in Boston, Massachusetts.
Overview of Job Responsibilities:
- Providing safety escorting to vendors in vivarium spaces.
- Conducting field observations to support safe work environments.
- Serving as a liaison between the Project Team and vendors during field activities.
- Participate in safety team huddles and continuous improvement activities.
- Support event management and reporting process.
- Providing technical interpretation of OSHA and Owner requirements and other applicable consensus standards for both construction and general industry.
- Engage directly with the workforce to influence safety practices, HSE principles, emergency response readiness, and hazard reporting expectations.
- Build trusted relationships to promote an interdependent safety culture grounded in accountability and mutual respect.
- 3+ years of escorting experience
- 3+ years of direct safety experience
- General industry safety preferred
- Lab safety preferred
Physical Demands of the job may include:
- Moving about long distances
- Ascending/Descending stairs and ladders
- Remaining in a stationary position for a prolonged period of time
- Working in extreme weather
- Being exposed to loud noises
- Wearing personal protective gear correctly
