As an Advanced Manufacturing Automation Engineer II, you will lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced manufacturing software and controls solutions with a strong focus on global platform development and cross-site standardization. This role is responsible for driving scalable, reusable solutions that are adopted across manufacturing sites while influencing technical direction and alignment across AME, IT, and operations teams. You will play a critical role in executing the Global Software and Connectivity Platforms strategy, acting as a technical leader and key partner in driving global adoption, governance, and long-term platform success, with the opportunity to grow into a lead role supporting global platform direction. 

 

Summary 

 

This role is a critical member of the Global Software and Connectivity Platforms team, responsible for leading execution and adoption of scalable solutions across manufacturing sites while developing into a key technical leader supporting global platform strategy and direction. 

 

Your Impact:  

 

  • Design and deploy controls, software, and electrical systems in manufacturing 

  • Lead execution of global software and connectivity platform initiatives across multiple manufacturing sites 

  • Drive commissioning, validation (FAT/SAT), and multi-site deployment of standardized solutions 

  • Contribute to and own components of scalable global software platforms and reusable architectures 

  • Develop machine-to-system connectivity (PLC, IPC, databases, MES) aligned to global platform standards 

  • Enable real-time data integration into manufacturing and enterprise systems to support global visibility and decision-making 

  • Implement digital poka-yoke and process enforcement solutions aligned with platform strategy 

  • Drive adoption of global standards across sites by influencing site AME, IT, and operations leaders 

  • Support high-complexity engineering and platform initiatives with feasibility, architecture input, and cost analysis 

  • Collaborate across global teams and suppliers to ensure alignment to platform direction and successful deployment at scale

What You Bring: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Software, Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing or related) 

  • 35 years of experience in automation, controls, or manufacturing software 

  • Experience with text-based, LabVIEW, or PLC  programming 

  • Experience working across teams or functions to deliver solutions 

  • Experience with manufacturing documentation (theory of operation, schematics, manuals) 

  • Software source control 

 

Preferred Experience: 

 

  • Experience developing & deploying scalable software solutions across multiple sites 

  • Experience influencing or working with global stakeholders (AME, IT, operations) 

  • Data connectivity, MES, or manufacturing software systems 

  • Machine-to-database integration, industrial communication protocols 

  • Robotics, vision systems, and advanced automation 

  • HMI development and configuration 

  • Database and data-driven application experience 

  • Understanding of lean manufacturing, quality systems, and error-proofing 

  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects 

  • Industrial automation experience 

  • Experience supporting or leading global deployments or standardization efforts 

 

Working Conditions 

 

Travel Requirements: 

  • Ability to travel internationally and domestically as required 

  • 10-20% (includes domestic and international travel for machine and/or concept evaluations)
