Summary

The Knowledge Management (KM) Manager - GenAI Center of Excellence (COE), working in collaboration with and in support of the firm’s strategic initiatives, will be a member of the Knowledge department and will work across the firm’s practices to support knowledge management needs and initiatives, optimize technology and artificial intelligence-based solutions, and encourage a knowledge-sharing culture.

The Manager will sit in the GenAI Center of Excellence and will serve as a dedicated GenAI support resource for attorneys, with a focus on the Disputes vertical. The Manager will receive and fulfill attorney requests for GenAI-assisted tasks that can typically be completed on a one-off basis with minimal iteration, delivering usable, attorney-ready outputs directly via email. Attorneys will submit requests without needing to use GenAI tools themselves, and the Manager will select the appropriate tool, process the request, and return a polished result.

Location

This position is located in our New York office and offers a hybrid work schedule.


Responsibilities

  • Supports improved efficiency of matter-specific teams through artificial intelligence-based solutions, delivering professional, attorney-ready outputs that require minimal or no further revision by the requesting attorney. Sample tasks include:
    • Creating and maintaining Harvey Vaults to support matter-specific and practice-wide knowledge management needs
    • Generating quick summaries of documents for attorney review
    • Generating detailed summaries with key testimony extracted and highlighted
    • Generating summaries organized by issue to support case strategy and analysis
    • Generating video and audio transcripts using GenAI transcription tools
    • Cross-referencing depositions and documents to identify similarities, differences, and inconsistencies
    • Matching testimony to claims in a complaint to support case assessment and preparation
    • Listing all referenced individuals and organizations from source materials to build comprehensive reference guides
    • Extracting timelines of facts from documents to assist with chronology development
  • Drafts Center of Excellence updates, newsletters, and other communications
  • Functions as an ambassador for the Center of Excellence to raise the awareness and highlight the value of the offering program, increase engagement and use of the GenAI tools and information resources, including through training, and encourage a knowledge-sharing culture.
  • Performs such other GenAI-assisted tasks as requested by the Disputes and other practice groups that can be completed with minimal iteration to produce a usable output.
  • Maintains accurate contemporaneous time records and bills hours in accordance with firm guidelines and client billing requirements.
  • Performs such other duties as requested by the Knowledge department and the practice, including working beyond scheduled hours as necessary and occasional travel.

Desired Skills

Familiarity with generative AI tools and platforms, including Harvey, is strongly preferred. Superior verbal and written communication skills and meticulous attention to detail. Ability to assess attorney requests and select the most appropriate GenAI tool and approach for each task. Knowledge of the typical workflows and needs of attorneys in a litigation or disputes practice. Demonstrated ability to deliver polished, professional work product with minimal supervision. Demonstrated passion for technology, innovation, and process improvement. Comfort working independently to manage a queue of requests and prioritize tasks effectively.


Minimum Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) required


Certifications

  • No specific certifications required. Relevant certifications in AI, legal technology, or project management are a plus.


Minimum Years of Experience

  • 2 years' experience practicing law in a litigation or transactional practice in a law firm, preferably in a GenAI-assisted support function connected to legal services.

Physical Demands
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

The firm’s expected hiring range for this position is $171,668 - $227,465 per year depending on the candidate’s geographic market location.

The compensation offered for employment will also be dependent on other factors including the candidate’s experience, skills, educational and professional background, and overall qualifications. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits, including medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k).
