Nursing Manager - Surgery

Job Type: Full Time

Up to $20,000 SOB for qualified candidates, paid over 24 months.

To provide direction/supervision of staff and planning for safe and effective nursing care of the patient undergoing surgical services. Supervise nursing duties according to AORN / ASPAN / SGNA standards and established policies and procedures of the department of Surgery, Sterile Processing and Anesthesia Techs. Assist in the maintenance of a safe environment. Assists and provides input to the Director regarding employment interviews, staff performance issues/needs, and employee schedules. Assists with the ongoing Performance Improvement Program. Specialized nursing care utilizes evidence-based practice in accordance with professional standards. Adhere to the Florida State Nurse Practice Act and reviews orders/test results and documents care delivered accurately and timely in the electronic health record.

Minimum Education: Graduate of an RN program
Preferred: B.S.N. 

Experience: Minimum five (3) years Managerial experience preferred.

Required Certification / Licensure / Registration:
• Current Florida RN license
• American Heart Association BLS/ ACLS / PALS 
• Understanding of AORN standards of practice
• Understanding of ASPAN standards of practice
• CNOR preferred
• Demonstrates yearly competencies specific to unit
