About the Company

Dragonfly stands for a different way of doing e-commerce delivery in Australia. Drawing on over three decades of experience as a market leader in Canada, Dragonfly is a new subsidiary that is hitting the ground running. Using the latest technologies and the right people ensures greater efficiencies, better results, and a superior customer experience.

At Dragonfly, it’s the littlest details that make the difference. We are a fast-paced company with a firm grip on market growth. We boast an agile working environment and do not shy away from challenges. Every member of our team is on the ground to guarantee on-time deliveries to doorsteps all around Australia.

About the Role:

The Sort Supervisor is vital in optimising the sortation team and its procedures. Your responsibilities include guiding the Sort team through operational set-up, unloading trailers, freight processing, parcel sorting, staging, dispatch, and clean-up activities, all within designated timeframes to ensure seamless daily operations. As a leader, you will provide ongoing training, coaching, support, and direction to team members while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

You will cultivate and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders, including linehaul providers, Independent Delivery Contractors, and internal operational teams, ensuring a customer-focused approach in all interactions. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining compliance with all safety, quality, and operational standards, conducting audits and checks, monitoring performance, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and service outcomes.

Your success in this role will be driven by your ability to lead a high-performing team, adapt to evolving operational demands, and consistently meet key performance indicators in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Schedule: Sunday to Thursday, 4:00am - 12:00pm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the Sort team to ensure freight is processed safely, accurately, and on schedule.

  • Oversee all daily sortation activities, including operational set-up, unloading trailers, scanning, sorting, staging, dispatch, returns processing, and pack-down.

  • Plan and prioritise workflows to achieve productivity, service, and operational targets while adapting to changing demands.

  • Manage staffing, labour allocation, scheduling, recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management of team members.

  • Ensure compliance with all operational procedures, company policies, and Health & Safety requirements, conducting regular audits and inspections to maintain a safe work environment.

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound freight movements, working closely with linehaul providers, contractor drivers, and internal stakeholders to ensure efficient operations.

  • Conduct quality checks and operational audits, investigating errors and implementing corrective actions and process improvements.

  • Maintain warehouse organisation, cleanliness, equipment standards, and operational readiness.

  • Complete operational reporting and administrative requirements accurately and on time.

  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, service, and overall operational performance.

  • Lead by example and consistently demonstrate Dragonfly's values of innovation, customer focus, teamwork, and diligence.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • 2+ years’ experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a fast-paced transport, logistics, warehouse, or distribution environment.

  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, freight handling, and sortation processes.

  • Proven leadership experience, including coaching, developing, and motivating teams to achieve operational outcomes.

  • Strong ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing operational demands.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, stakeholder management, and conflict resolution skills.

  • Strong commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.

  • Hands-on, professional, and team-oriented approach to work.

  • Valid Forklift Licence (highly desirable).

  • Ability to safely lift and move packages up to 25kg.

Why Join Dragonfly Shipping?

  • Competitive remuneration package.

  • Dynamic, team-oriented, and supportive environment.

  • Growth and development opportunities in both Australia and Canada.

  • Opportunity to make a genuine impact and be part of a rapidly growing company.
