Your mission

Bridge Science and Market to Deliver Scalable Climate Impact 
At Dunia, we are transforming materials innovation to accelerate climate solutions. Our platform IRIS turns breakthrough research into scalable, real-world products. As our Business Development Manager, you will work with our VP of Commercial and Co-Founders with a focus on operationalizing commercial efforts to deliver impact and value. You'll be the connection between our customers and internal teams, to develop new projects from scope to final agreement, to keep these projects moving and the expectations aligned, address challenges, develop new opportunities and focus on delivering overall success. 


Your tasks will include:
  • Drive strategic sales efforts: work with the VP of Commercial to research, and develop key commercial opportunities.
  • Develop internal visibility: Track pipeline movement, maintain a high-quality CRM overview, and own all relevant reporting on commercial progress.
  • Refine processes: Help build and improve internal BD workflows, templates, and documentation to scale repeatable success.
  • Identify and specify customer needs as well as new leads through customer interaction and coordinate lead qualification
  • Own the post-deal process: Support onboarding and early-stage execution of new commercial partnerships.
  • Manage client relationships: Serve as the main point of contact for our commercial partners to strengthen trust and momentum.
  • Coordinate cross-functional delivery: Work closely with tech and operations teams to ensure timely, aligned execution on partner commitments.
  • Unlock growth opportunities: Spot signals for upsells, expansions, or new strategic angles within existing accounts as well as with new contacts.
  • Participate in international exhibitions, fairs, conferences, etc. (including techno-commercial presentations)

Your profile

  • 3-5 years work experience in international business development, account management, or technical sales operations, ideally in the deep tech, advanced materials, or climate-related sectors
  • Technical or materials science education background, ideally a PhD/Master degree in science in chemistry, physics, or chemical engineering or equivalent
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills, with an eye for detail and follow-through
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, across internal and external stakeholders. 
  • English and German fluency. Additional European language, nice to have
  • Experience working across teams, especially technical and commercial functions
  • Familiarity with CRM tools and basic sales tracking/reporting workflows
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity in fast-paced, startup environments
  • Proven sales acumen and a track record of success
  • Willingness and drive for high work travel commitment, proven sales acumen 
  • A genuine interest in climate technology, science-driven innovation, and building things that matter
