How you will make an Impact:
 

The Research and Safety Division (RSD), part of the Customer Channels Group, is a leading distributor serving the global scientific research market.

We are seeking a Finance Director to lead the North America and Emerging Markets FP&A team, partnering closely with division finance, commercial, and marketing leaders to drive business performance and deliver financial objectives. This highly visible role will lead a team of three direct reports and be responsible for all financial planning, forecasting, analysis, and reporting activities across the region.

The successful candidate will serve as a strategic business partner, providing actionable insights, supporting key decision-making processes, identifying opportunities for operational improvement, and developing a high-performing finance organization.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR), Monthly Business Reviews (MBR), and Strategic Planning (STRAP) processes within a matrixed global finance organization.
  • Own monthly and quarterly financial reporting, including revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, KPIs, and capital expenditures.
  • Partner with the Division President and Vice President of Finance to develop executive-level presentations and analyses that support strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Lead complex financial and business analyses, leveraging data-driven insights and advanced problem-solving techniques.
  • Evaluate financial and operational performance against key business metrics, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to support strategic objectives.
  • Translate complex financial information into clear, concise recommendations for diverse audiences.
  • Identify, communicate, and drive actions that mitigate risks and capitalize on growth opportunities.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives that enhance business performance, productivity, and financial processes.
  • Recruit, coach, and develop a high-performing finance team while fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.

How You Will Get Here

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field required.
  • MBA, CPA, MS, or other advanced financial qualification preferred.

Experience

  • 10+ years of progressive finance and business leadership experience.
  • Proven experience leading and developing geographically dispersed teams.
  • Experience within a large global organization and highly matrixed environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess business dynamics and proactively communicate financial implications to leadership.
  • Strong track record of influencing business decisions through financial analysis and strategic partnership.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, work effectively under deadlines, and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of business processes, financial controls, and risk management, with the ability to identify process gaps and implement effective solutions.
  • Experience leading productivity and continuous improvement initiatives using Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methodologies.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required.
  • Experience with Oracle, Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), CMR, PLN, and Cognos preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning, professional development, and expanding leadership capabilities.

Travel Requirements

  • Less than 5% domestic and international travel.
