Compensation: Grade 7 - starting from £38,784 rising to £43,482 per annum
Description
You will support students experiencing mental distress by delivering mental health interventions through both one-on-one sessions and group settings, facilitating crisis assessments and providing immediate intervention when needed.
About the Role
You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, maintain strict professional boundaries and confidentiality, and contribute to service development and strong internal and external partnerships. The post includes supporting students through guided self-help approaches, maintaining accurate electronic records, and managing appointments independently.
Regular clinical supervision and line management meetings are integral to the role, alongside delivering consultancy, training, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of best practice within the higher education sector.
About You
- Qualification and current registration with a recognised professional body, such as the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) or the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), Social Work England (SWE)
- Significant post-registration experience in a relevant role
- Experience of providing short-term focused individual therapeutic interventions.
- Experience in risk assessment and crisis management.
- Experience of working with individuals with acute mental illness and diagnosed, long-term mental health conditions.
- Experience of working within Higher Education.
- Experience of working with complex emotional needs
- Experience of delivering interventions both 1:1 and in groups
Additional Information
The salary range shows the potential maximum pay progression in addition to any annual inflationary increase to your pay. Please note that our default position is to appoint into the lower end of the range, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
