Job OverviewBanquet Staff is responsible for providing high-quality food and beverage service during banquet events, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner functions. This role supports the full event lifecycle by assisting with setup, delivering attentive service, and completing post-event breakdown. The Banquet Server ensures guests receive prompt, courteous service while maintaining event standards and presentation.
This position operates in a fast-paced banquet environment requiring continuous movement, multitasking, and guest interaction. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors depending on event requirements, with exposure to noise, varying surfaces, and active service conditions. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, adaptability, and a commitment to exceptional guest service.
Job Responsibilities
Event Setup & Preparation
Set up banquet rooms and function spaces according to event orders and service standards
Drape tables, set silverware, fold napkins, and arrange centerpieces
Prepare service stations and ensure readiness for meal service
Assist in preparing beverages and service materials prior to events
Food & Beverage Service
Pick up food from kitchen or back hall and transport safely to event space
Serve food and beverages using appropriate service style (plated, buffet, or passed service)
Carry trays and deliver items efficiently while maintaining presentation standards
Adapt service style based on meal period, including continental breakfast, lunch service, or formal dinner
Guest Service & Experience
Provide friendly, attentive, and professional service throughout events
Maintain awareness of guest needs and respond promptly to requests
Ensure tables are properly maintained, cleared, and reset during service
Maintain energy, focus, and professionalism throughout events of varying duration
Event Breakdown & Cleanup
Clear tables, remove dirty linens, and collect centerpieces after events
Break down banquet rooms and restore spaces to original condition
Clean and organize back halls and storage areas
Assist with vacuuming and maintaining cleanliness of event spaces
Team Support & Communication
Communicate effectively with banquet captain, team members, and kitchen staff
Maintain open communication regarding service needs and event progress
Support team members to ensure smooth and efficient event execution
Attend pre-shift meetings and follow event instructions carefully
Safety, Cleanliness & Compliance
Follow all safety, sanitation, and company policies
Maintain clean and organized work areas throughout events
Properly handle equipment, dishware, and cleaning materials
Ensure compliance with operational and service standards
Job RequirementsEducation: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of food and beverage experience required; banquet or event service experience preferred.Skills and Abilities:

Physical requirements:
Constant standing; frequent walking, pushing/pulling, and manual dexterity

Ability to work continuously during event service periods
Ability to navigate indoor and outdoor event spaces, including uneven surfaces
