Responsibilities
- Operate equipment in an effective and safe manner working directly with your team
- Follow safety precautions, procedures, and policies.
- Perform daily service and preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Operate equipment in a safe manner and be willing to comply with Lavis’ safety commitments.
- Other duties as assigned.
PLEASE NOTE - This is a Union position (OE 793) and the successful candidate MUST be a current member in good standing or willing to join
Qualifications
- Experience as a Mainline Excavator Operator installing Municipal Infrastructure as well as using a trench box
- Experience digging around underground utilities including Gas, Fibre Optics and Hydro
- Experience with GPS equipment is considered an asset
- Strong understanding of grading, trenching, and excavation techniques
- Knowledge of equipment maintenance and safety procedures
- Minimum of a valid Ontario G driver’s licence is required.
- Daily exposure to construction environment.
- Mechanically inclined will be considered an asset.
- Ability to perform effective verbal and written instructions.
- AZ/DZ Licence is considered an asset. Possibility of AZ licence training for the right candidate.
- Flexible hours required to meet project timelines.
Compensation Data
$44.07 as per the OE 793 Collective Agreement
