A Brief Overview
The Manager Radiation Oncology, reporting directly to the Oncology Service Line Director, works collaboratively with physicians, nursing leadership, Oncology Service Line leadership, operational leaders, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered radiation oncology services.
Responsible for the day-to-day operational leadership, performance, and growth of the Radiation Oncology program. Provides oversight of the radiation care continuum, including radiation therapy, nursing, scheduling, patient access, clinical support services, quality, patient experience, and operational performance.
Serves as the site leader for Radiation Oncology and is accountable for the operational, financial, quality, access, and people outcomes of the department. Partners closely with the Oncology Service Line Director and radiation oncology leadership to align operations, clinical programs, quality standards, growth initiatives, and strategic priorities.
What you will do
- Provide operational leadership and oversight for all aspects of the Radiation Oncology program, including clinical and support operations, workflow management, patient access, staffing, quality, patient experience, and financial performance
- Drive program performance and continuous improvement by monitoring operational, clinical, and financial results; addressing risks and barriers; and implementing action plans to achieve volume, access, quality, patient experience, and departmental goals
- Provide financial stewardship for the department by developing and managing budgets, productivity targets, labor performance, capital needs, and resource allocation to support operational efficiency and performance goals
- Drive program growth and performance by partnering with physicians and leaders to implement strategies that expand access and services, optimize capacity and resource utilization, improve patient retention, and achieve financial and operational targets
- Ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, cost-effective care in compliance with organizational, regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards
- Lead quality, safety, regulatory readiness, and performance improvement efforts by monitoring key indicators, benchmarking results, implementing best practices, and taking corrective action to improve consistency, efficiency, patient experience, and outcomes
- Provide people leadership to ensure appropriate staffing, workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, coaching, professional development, and succession planning in support of current operations and future growth
- Build a high-performing and engaged team culture by establishing accountability, mentoring staff, managing performance, promoting collaboration and service excellence, and supporting employee retention and engagement
- Partner with the Oncology Service Line Director and radiation oncology leadership to align departmental operations, clinical programs, quality standards, growth initiatives, and strategic priorities with broader service line goals
- Serve as the primary operational liaison across radiation oncology and oncology service line stakeholders to foster collaboration, support program integration, advance strategic initiatives, and ensure a coordinated patient experience throughout the continuum of care
Education Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Required
- Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, Radiation Therapy, or related field Preferred
Experience Qualifications
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive healthcare leadership experience Required
- Minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience within oncology, radiation oncology, ambulatory services, or a related clinical service line Required
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams, including clinical and operational staff Required
- Experience managing departmental operations, budgets, staffing, quality initiatives, and performance outcomes Required

Licenses and Certifications
- Radiation therapy, nursing, or healthcare leadership certification Preferred
