Senior Project Manager, Engineering

Reporting to the Sr. Director, Engineering; the Senior Project Manager, Engineering is accountable for successful completion of various capital projects while providing technical support and guidance in troubleshooting plant equipment and service issues. This position provides proactive and effective support to improve systems and processes needed to increase efficiency, visibility, and issue management. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for ensuring preventative programs are implemented and maintained as required.   KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES   Manage various capital projects, including new plant construction from concept through to commissioning including budget preparation, cost tracking and negotiating with vendors. Provide technical support and guidance in troubleshooting plant equipment and services Represent the Company in dealing with all levels of Government pertaining to permitting and obtaining the necessary approvals Assess and prioritize process/project opportunities and manage it from beginning through to completion. Improve the overall operating efficiency of the plants, in concert with Plant Managers, through technological improvements and process optimization. Assist Plant Managers foster a continuous improvement culture in the manufacturing facilities.     QUALIFICATIONS   Post-Secondary Degree in Engineering; A minimum of 7 years of progressive engineering/technical experience in a manufacturing environment Minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing capital projects; Experience working within an environment that manufactures perishable goods preferred; National Travel is required.      Hiring Range: CAD $95,800 - $145,800 Bonus: This position is eligible for a bonus up to 16.5% of base salary subject to the plan terms and conditions. Please note that the expected hiring range provided is derived from a group of like roles within Sofina.  The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on geographical region, applicable experience, skillset of the candidate and internal equity.
