Job Description – Technical Lead (Application Development)

Role Overview 

We are looking for a highly skilled Technical Lead with 10+ years of experience in software engineering and architecture to lead the development of a web portal and mobile application for pension and benefits administration. 
This role collaborates closely with the development team, participates actively in solution design, gathers requirements, and drives the technical execution from concept to delivery. 

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in .NET Core, C#, Azure Kubernetes, SQL Server, Azure DevOps, API-driven architectures, and modern front-end JS technologies 

 

Key Responsibilities 

1. Technical Leadership 

  • Lead technical architecture, design, and development for the pension administration web and mobile platforms. 

  • Provide hands-on development support in backend services, REST APIs, gRPC services, and frontend components when required. 

  • Translate complex business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions. 

  • Conduct architectural reviews, design reviews, and code reviews to maintain high engineering standards. 

  • Guide the team in performance optimization, security best practices, and application scalability. 

2. Team Leadership & Collaboration 

  • Lead a cross-functional team of backend, frontend, and full-stack developers. 

  • Collaborate daily with developers, product owners, UX designers, and QA to ensure smooth sprint execution. 

  • Mentor engineers, conduct technical training, and promote best coding practices. 

  • Foster a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement. 

3. Requirement Gathering & Stakeholder Management 

  • Work with product managers, business users, SMEs, and stakeholders to understand functional and non-functional requirements. 

  • Convert business needs into technical specifications, architecture diagrams, and actionable development tasks. 

  • Communicate effectively about progress, risks, dependencies, and technical decisions. 

4. Delivery Management 

  • Drive agile ceremonies: sprint planning, backlog refinement, estimation, and retrospectives. 

  • Ensure high-quality deliverables through strong CI/CD workflows, automated testing, and robust DevOps practices. 

  • Oversee end-to-end software development lifecycle (SDLC) including design, development, testing, deployment, and post-release support. 

5. DevOps, Testing & Quality Assurance 

  • Work with Azure DevOps for source control, pipelines, release management, and automated deployments. 

  • Ensure adoption of automated testing: unit tests, integration tests. 

  • Implement coding standards, documentation practices, and quality gates in CI/CD pipelines. 

 

Required Technical Skills & Experience 

Backend Technologies 

  • 10+ years of experience with .NET Core / .NET 8/9, C#, Azure Kubernetes, Entity Framework 

  • Strong expertise in building REST APIs and gRPC services

  • Hands-on experience with Docker and Azure Kubernetes. 

  • Deep understanding of API security frameworks (JWT, OAuth2, role-based access). 

Frontend & Mobile 

  • Good understanding of JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, Node.js

  • Experience guiding teams building UI using React.js, Next.js, component libraries, and responsive UI principles. 

  • Familiarity with frontend build tools (Webpack, npm, bundlers) and testing tools (Jest, RTL). 

DevOps & Cloud 

  • Strong experience with Azure DevOps, Git repositories, branching strategies, and CI/CD pipelines. 

  • Understanding of cloud-native architecture and deployment practices (Azure preferred). 

  • Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes is a plus. 

Testing & Quality 

  • Experience with automated testing frameworks 

  • Knowledge of performance testing, accessibility standards, and monitoring/observability. 

 

Leadership & Management Skills 

  • Proven experience leading engineering teams of 10–15 members. 

  • Strong ability to break down requirements, plan sprints, and manage delivery timelines. 

  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and escalation management skills. 

  • Experience building SaaS-based products or working in a startup-like environment is mandatory. 

  • Experience using AI-assisted coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor). 

 

Nice-to-Have Skills 

  • Experience with Keycloak or similar identity management systems. 

  • Familiarity with Figma, UI design workflows, or data visualization libraries. 

  • Prior experience in pension, financial services, or benefits administration domain. 

 

Educational Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar.
