Job Description
The Inventory Manager, Target Plus (T+) will have the responsibility for delivering operational excellence by driving continuous improvement and process optimization for our T+ organization. You will be a catalyst using horizontal and vertical leadership to drive successful business outcomes. You will manage a team of process specialists who will enable successful category assortment submissions and support partners to grow their business on Target.com.
You and your team will play a key role to enable partner success fueling growth for T+ via data driven decision making, operational support to category management and driving process improvements.
You will focus on maximizing GMV and ensuring smooth operations for both internal and external stakeholders making a significant impact in a dynamic, agile environment.
Your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
Team:
Staffing & hiring: understand job & skill requirements & conduct timely hiring to staff the team
Onboarding & Engagement: enable a smooth & effective onboarding of a TM/peer onto Target, team, business & process
Performance management: To observe, assess & record TM performance on key metrics and leverage this data for pay & hike recommendations.
Responsible for resource planning, competency development, performance management, talent retention, career planning and development
Define Roles and Responsibilities for each role within Operations together with the goals and objectives
Operations:
Deliver on the key operational metrics and drive improvements – Inventory health & Inventory forecasting.
Deliver Operational Excellence through people, process and technology via continuous improvement: Process optimization by Implementation of process standardization, process streamlining and automation
Lead and manage process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste: lead projects aimed to deliver successful business outcomes for T+
Shape processes and solutions for the future while delivering improved business outcomes in collaboration with various global partners across US and India
Collaborate with technology and data analytics teams on discovery, design and roll out of various reporting, applications and tools to generate value for the T+ team.
Ensure all operational deliverables are completed within defined SLAs
SKU movement between channels to ensure that right skus sits with the right channel.
Assortment Expansion & Item Management - Enable partner expansion into new categories by closely working with business teams.Protect partner experience by resolving assortment requests within SLA and maintaining clear, timely communication.
Develop partnerships to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders as well as be a change agent with the ability to influence change without authority: Regularly provide data and updates to stakeholders on outcomes driven by category operations.

About you:
Four-year degree or equivalent experience
7+ years of overall experience, preferably in retail with a minimum of 2 years as a people manager
Broad retail merchandising, marketing, and operations experience with proven ability to drive results within a Matrix Organization
Proven experience in process governance, process improvement with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent planning, organizational, and data-driven decision making skills
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal as well as written, together with storytelling and presentation skills.
Possess Strong cognitive skills with the ability to demonstrate courage, think critically, and drive results
Structured problem solving skills (such as Lean/ Six Sigma) with application experience of process improvement tools & techniques
Ability to structure ambiguous problems, analyze complex processes, synthesize data and results, and deliver insights and solutions
Demonstrated ability to drive complex projects and lead and coach other project team members
Proven experience to develop strong partnerships to deliver results across a matrixed organization
Have an understanding on how various products/ technologies interact with each other. “system architecture”
