What you’ll do:

Eaton announced, on January 26, 2026, the intent to separate its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) into an independent, publicly traded company. We expect to complete the separation by the end of the first quarter of 2027. As a standalone company, the Mobility business will be more focused and agile, creating exciting opportunities for employees to grow, innovate, and help shape the future of mobility. The separation reflects strong confidence in the Mobility team and positions the new company as an employer of choice in the automotive and commercial vehicle industry.

The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton's plans, programs and practices. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the spinoff closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.

Eaton India Innovation Center -Mobility business is looking for a Senior Engineer to lead operations of metallurgy lab. In this role, you will be responsible for managing day to day operations of metallurgy lab and execute high quality material testing and characterization to provide solutions related to materials and metallurgical processes to support Eaton's product development.     

"- Manage day to day operations of materials lab ensuring achievement of target OTD, FPY and equipment utilization
- Support product development through identification of commercially viable cost effective materials & manufacturing solutions for NPI
- Leverages lab equipments and external ecosystem for advanced material characterization and testing to support business groups for Cost out, Failure analysis & new supplier qualification.
- Responsible for making disposition on PPAP, non conforming and off standard materials.
- Document technical data generated by the assigned projects, consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
- Create and enforce standardized procedures, specification through documentation aligned with business needs
- Develop strong business relations across global organization to understand critical business problems that require materials and manufacturing based solutions
- Participates and presents in internal innovation and ideation events.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines set by Eaton and perform all work and responsibilities in a safe and responsible manner."    

Qualifications:

B Tech/M Tech in materials science and engineering OR Metallurgy
"B Tech with 6+ years of industry experience 
OR
M Tech with 4+ years of industry experience"

Skills:

"Strong knowledge of Physical metallurgy, Mechanical metallurgy, advanced characterization & testing
Knowledge of fractography, metallography and sample preparation
Knowledge of advanced characterization including XRD, SEM-EDS, WDS, EBSD, TEM will be added advantage
CQI, API and equivalent metallurgical audit Certification is a plus"
