Texas Instruments (TI) is currently looking for a service-minded and experienced Health & Safety Specialist with a strong background in Construction Safety. This role will support the construction of a new 300mm factory and sustaining operations of our existing factory in Lehi, Utah. If you have a passion for promoting a positive safety culture and a knowledge of job site safety requirements, coupled with an interest in contributing directly to the bottom line of a multi-billion dollar organization, this may be the position for you!
Responsibilities include:
- Direct interface with the project team, including participation in team meetings and construction plans
- Work with site personnel to conduct Job Hazard Analysis and pre-task planning to ensure safety requirements are incorporated into the construction activities
- Develop/approve work procedures and provide cost-effective risk reduction
- Evaluate and assess safety and health risks associated with the project and construction activities
- Perform and support site audit and inspections
- Monitor construction ESHS leading indicator metrics to drive improvements in the safety culture
- Support root-cause analysis and incident investigation
- Serve as liaison with regulatory agencies during inspections
- Review contractor lift plans, confined space permits, excavation permits, hot work, energized electrical work, and LOTO procedures
- Participate in site safety meetings weekly
- Respond to and provide support for emergency events

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health, or a related field
- 5 years of experience in a safety-related role, particularly in a high-paced structural construction environment and including experience leading projects, initiatives, or programs
- OSHA Construction Certifications

- Willingness to relocate as needed to support project work worldwide
- Strong project management and time management skills
- Strong organizational and computer skills, meticulous attention to detail, ability to work independently and as part of a team, excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Basic understanding of OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1910) and other relevant safety standards
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
- Ability to take the initiative and drive for results
- Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
- Ability to work effectively in an interrupt-driven, fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
