The Foster School of Business has an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant to the Associate Dean, Undergraduate Programs to join their team.

About this Opportunity

Reporting to the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs, the Assistant to the Associate Dean, Undergraduate Programs for the Foster School of Business  helps to ensure that the undergraduate experience is meaningful, equitable, and enriching for undergraduate business major and minor students. This means supporting students, faculty, and staff to enforce academic standards, build community, and create spaces for dialogue and connection.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting Academic Integrity-33%
    • Work with student conduct officers  to support academic integrity process from end to end. This involves interfacing with students, faculty, and staff inside and outside of the Foster School.
      • Includes correspondence and record keeping for undergraduate academic misconduct cases, as well as tracking of sanctions as needed.
      • Includes scheduling and participating in investigative interviews for undergraduate academic misconduct cases
      • includes attending meetings, trainings, and working with Community Standards and Student Conduct office to support academic integrity
      • includes supporting student conduct officer for graduate programs as needed.
  • Event Planning – 20%
    • Standing membership on Foster undergraduate graduation committee, which includes coordinating RSVPs and regalia ordering for faculty, communicating and coordinating with keynote speaker, and supporting student speaker selection among other administrative duties
    • Community building events: helping to recruit, plan, and execute events and structures for building community and amplifying student voices, such as roundtables, ad hoc committees, listening sessions, town halls, and other gatherings.
    • Working with Associate Deans for Undergraduate and Master’s programs to support planning and logistics for teaching workshops
  • Reporting and Data Management- 17%
    • Work with faculty Core Course Coordinators and Dean’s office to establish, implement, and maintain processes for collection of student performance data for Assurances of Learning for AACSB accreditation
      • Includes management of quarterly Canvas quizzes in core classes
      • Includes compiling data reports for AACSB accreditation
    • Collaborate with Associate Dean, Assistant Dean, and Admissions, Engagement, and Operations team to enable data driven decisions on key strategic priorities for the Foster undergraduate program.
  • Communications- 15%
    • Managing listservs and distribution of quarterly emails to faculty.
    • Managing intranet resources for faculty support
  • Fiscal/Operational support – 10%
    • Reimbursements for associate deans
    • Managing  discretionary dean budget           
    • Occasionally managing travel arrangements for students, faculty, or staff for Undergraduate Program Office related travel
    • Assisting with student badging and other co-curricular activities for student learning and education
  • Light calendaring -5%
    • Scheduling Undergraduate Programs Committee meetings, workshops, quarterly faculty meetings and other undergraduate  program events as needed
    • Scheduling teaching observations for associate deans

Required Qualifications

Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, data/analytics, social science or related field.
  • Three years progressively responsible experience in the daily operations of a program or department to include financial, budget, human resources and administrative/organizational management.
  • Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be forwarded to the Hiring Manager.

Additional Qualifications

  • Proven experience successfully communicating with a diverse group of employees, including the ability to collaborate with students, faculty, and staff of different backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Effective and professional oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to meet constant, changing, and often overlapping deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize work and manage a heavy workload with frequent interruptions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of University administrative systems and human resources.
  • Experience with or ability to learn new systems (e.g., UW Business Intelligence portal, secureCRT for instructor management, EARS, EDW).
  • Experience in event planning and execution.
  • Eager to explore innovative and new ways to streamline tasks (e.g., with AI)

Working Conditions

  • This position is located on the Seattle campus and is hybrid-eligible, with a minimum of (3) days per week in the office. 

Compensation, Benefits and Position Details

Pay Range Minimum:

$63,312.00 annual

Pay Range Maximum:

$79,140.00 annual
