Partnering closely with Regional and Enterprise Architecture - while remaining firmly business-focused - you will operate at a critical stage of data & AI maturity, shaping the foundational architecture, disciplines, & artefacts needed to move from fragmented, siloed data practices to a cohesive operating model. Acting as the bridge between business intent & technical delivery, you will define what data is needed, what it means, & how it aligns to strategic objectives - translating this into clear requirements for technology & delivery teams. This senior, business-facing role will see you engage leaders, align stakeholders, & establish a consistent data language that underpins high-quality data products, analytics, AI solutions, & data-driven decision-making.

- Maintain the blueprint as a living artefact, updated as strategy, structure & technology evolve
Business Object Model & Data Domains:
- Connect strategic business objectives to data needs through a Business Object Model, & define the data domain structure that organises data ownership, stewardship & governance
- Engage senior stakeholders to translate strategic priorities & decision-making requirements into a coherent model of data needs
Data Ontologies & Data Modelling:
- Develop logical data models as the implementation agnostic bridge between business requirements & physical design
- Establish & apply data modelling standards across the region
Business Data & AI Requirements Curation:
- Be the primary interface between business teams & the RANZ Data & AI Office for identifying, structuring, & translating data & AI requirements into actionable specifications
- Translate business requirements into structured specifications (e.g. data entities, attributes, quality specifications, timeliness expectations, access needs, training & interference data needs etc) for engineering & delivery teams
Enterprise Architecture Partnership:
- Align Business Object & Data Domain models with capability frameworks & operating model design
- Embed the Data Architecture Blueprint across Business & Technology Architecture (applications, integration, platforms)
- Represent data in Regional Architecture forums, promoting a ‘data by design’ approach in key decisions
- Partner with stakeholders to deliver data architecture that supports sustainable outcomes & responsible AI
- Mentor & support stakeholders to build internal data capability
To be successful, you will have:
- 10+ years’ experience in Data Architecture or similar
- Strong business-facing experience (ideally within banking/financial services, other regulated industry or complex operational environment)
- Proven ability to translate business needs into data models & specifications
- Deep understanding of data domains, ontologies & logical modelling
- Experience supporting data products & AI/ML use cases
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts
- Confident engaging & influencing senior stakeholders

- The ability to connect how the bank operates with how data should be structured
- Experience shaping & overseeing how data is designed & used
- Strong workshop facilitation skills across business & technical teams
