WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Provide Dealers and related third Parties with world class technical information and diagnostic tools to effectively and efficiently maintain and repair Hyundai and Genesis vehicles in the US.
  • Provide Dealers with an essential tools and equipment program to exceed their efficiency and productivity needs for vehicle diagnosis and repair. Manage dealer compliance, maintenance, and proactive improvements to support business and operational planning objectives.
  • Support achieving company objectives for Fix Right First Time in support of benchmark levels of Service Satisfaction/CSI and Total Cost of Quality including warranty cost.  Support NHTSA compliance through effective support of recall/campaign completion.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • In collaboration with HMC and Quality/Service Engineering, lead the publication of the Service Manuals, Technical Information and TSBs (Developed by QSE) and other publications to provide dealers and the repair industry with the information needed to properly maintain, diagnose, and repair vehicles.   Leverage omni channel technology to distribute this information to users.
  • In collaboration with HMC and key affiliates, develop, implement, and support the global diagnostic tool platform and applications to enable dealers and appropriate 3rd parties to effectively and efficiently diagnose and repair vehicles. 
  • Validate effectiveness of Technical Information and Diagnostic Tools to support technicians and suggest improvements to increase effectiveness.  Periodically validate dealer technical tools compliance.
  • Conduct dealer technical / tool process evaluations.
  • Recognize and report possible Safety issues per NASO processes.
  • Lead the Special Service Tools team through all aspects of developing and improving Hyundai and Genesis tools, equipment and facility programs including EV and Fuel Cell technology. Maintain and exceed pace with industry best practices for positive technician experience, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Develop the internal employee staffing and external partner strategy for staffing to perform group roles and responsibilities.  Recruit, train, motivate and retain the employees in alignment with HMNA policies and procedures.
  • Develop the business plan and budget needed to perform group roles and responsibilities in accordance with HMNA policies & procedures. Track budget and adjust budget or activities as needed.
  • Evaluate, select, contract with, and manage the performance of vendors needed to perform group roles and responsibilities in accordance with HMNA policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with related Service, CX, Quality, Aftersales and Sales/Field Ops to achieve group and to support achieving other company objectives such as Retail Sales, CSI, IQS, VDS, Total Cost of Quality (TCQ), Aftersales etc. Coordinate with the Retail Experience and Training Group who develop and deploy training to dealer staff including dealer technicians.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Must be a high school graduate.
  • Bachelor’s degree required in Engineering or related science.
  • Master’s degree a plus.
  • Ten or more years of related Automotive or similar technical industry experience required.
  • Three or more years of Managerial experience desired.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
  • Thorough automotive technical knowledge required.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical/problem solving ability.
  • Strong data management/general and statistical analysis/reporting capabilities.
  • Strong organizational skills yet flexible to accomplish objectives that are often subject to change.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision and direction.

OTHER DETAILS

  • Normal office duties.
  • Occasional lifting and/or vehicle mechanical assembly/disassembly.
  • Work requires vehicle evaluations, travel to meetings, site visits, and inspections. This requires possession of a valid state driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
  • Up to 25% domestic travel and occasional international travel, including Korea.
