Job Description
Koniag Professional Services, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Data Management Specialist to support KPS and our government customer in Dallas, TX. This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust. This position is for a Future New Business Opportunity.

The Data Management Specialist will provide comprehensive data management services supporting federal grant administration programs. The specialist will be responsible for ensuring data integrity across multiple systems, maintaining workflow tracking solutions, and supporting federal personnel with accurate, reliable data management. This is an ONSITE position required to be performed at Dallas office locations with telework available upon approval.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide advanced support in project management and analysis within an organization
Develop project plans, tracking project progress, analyzing project data, preparing project reports, and identifying potential project risks and opportunities
Assist in project budgeting, resource allocation, and stakeholder communication
Conduct comprehensive data quality oversight and implement validation procedures to ensure accurate, reliable data across all systems
Review existing data systems to identify inaccurate data and improperly maintained records, developing corrective action plans
Develop and implement processes for ongoing data quality monitoring and continuous improvement
Apply data governance principles and best practices to establish organizational data standards
Establish and maintain data quality standards, metrics, and key performance indicators
Perform regular data audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and federal requirements
Support ad hoc data projects assigned by management
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for operational systems and processes
Deliver training and guidance to end users on data management tools and best practices
Complete annual mandatory federal training requirements
Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information
Position Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in information management, library science, or a related field from an accredited university or college
Required Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of relevant post-baccalaureate professional experience directly related to data management tasks
Experience with data quality assurance and validation methodologies
Knowledge of data governance principles and practical applications
Experience with document management systems
Metadata management experience
Proven ability to maintain close attention to detail and accuracy in all work products
Exceptional professional communication skills, both written and oral, with ability to interact effectively with federal personnel
Advanced proficiency in either Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis functions, or Smartsheet for project management and workflow tracking
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Proficiency with data quality tools and validation techniques
Strong skills in data cleaning, documentation, and records management
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve data quality issues
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Travel Requirements:
Contractor personnel are required to travel within and outside the Region during the performance of this contract to conduct site visits, attend meetings, conferences, and training
Additional Requirements:
U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work in the United States
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance
Ability to pass required background investigations for access to federal facilities and systems
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
Willingness to complete mandatory training requirements
Security Requirement:
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance
Desired Skills and Competencies:
Experience working in a federal government environment, particularly with federal grant programs
Knowledge of federal records management
Experience with federal data systems and integration platforms
Familiarity with Head Start, HHS, or other federal social services grant programs
Experience with data visualization and/or other tools (including Tableau, Power BI, Python, R, GIS/Mapping (Geographic Information System), SQL (Structured Query Language), Smartsheet, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Microsoft Teams, and Cloud platforms (AWS (Amazon Web Services) and Azure))
Basic SQL knowledge
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
