Senior Regional H&S Manager - Europe
At Lindt & Sprüngli, safety is our first ingredient. As part of a global transformation of our Health & Safety (H&S) approach, we are seeking a Senior Regional Health & Safety Manager to drive measurable improvements in safety performance, leadership capability, and organisational culture across Europe.
This role firstly requires strong technical H&S knowledge and the ability to engage with front-line workers. Secondly, you feel equally comfortable discussing health and safety with business leaders in a simple way and you are able to influence senior stakeholders (VP/CEO level), translate risk into business decisions, and deliver tangible results.
You will play a key role in shaping and embedding our Global H&S Management System, acting as a trusted advisor to leadership, while ensuring strong execution at site level.
These roles will evolve significantly over time. You will be physically located in one of our regional companies either in Induno-Italy or Luserna, San Giovanni-Italy. This role requires strong technical and behavioural safety capability, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to build trust and influence at all levels of the organisation. It involves working in a virtual global environment with regular travel for design workshops and regional site visits.
Reporting Line
· Reports administratively to the location Vice President of Operations
· Receives functional direction from the Group Health & Safety Manager
Key Responsibilities
1. Programme Design & Transformation (Year 1 focus)
Lead the implementation of the Group’s Health & Safety Management System across the region. Establish governance frameworks, KPIs, and reporting structures, while identifying gaps and best practices. Drive the delivery of the regional H&S roadmap, and ensure measurable improvements in safety performance, culture, and risk reduction through data-driven performance management and continuous improvement.
2. Coaching & Capability Building
Strengthen health and safety knowledge and leadership across the organisation by coaching and developing people at all levels – from front-line to senior local management. Build long-term organisational capability and support behavioural and cultural change, while acting as a role model for effective safety leadership, communication, and accountability.
3. Strategic Leadership & Stakeholder Influence
Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, ensuring Health & Safety is fully integrated into business strategy and decision-making. Influence cross-functional leaders to balance health and safety risk management with operational performance, cost, and growth. Build strong relationships across the organisation, aligning stakeholders and driving outcomes through influence in a matrix environment.
4. Technical Expertise & Risk Management
Own specific standards as a global subject-matter expert (SME), and identify improvement areas within those. Ensure robust identification, prioritisation, and mitigation of risks across the region. Lead and support incident investigations.
Education & Experience
The role requires a master’s degree in a technical or science-based discipline, with a formal Health & Safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH, IOSH, MOSHE) strongly preferred. Candidates should bring a minimum of 8 years’ Health & Safety experience within manufacturing or FMCG environments, including experience in regional or global roles operating within matrix organisations.
Experience & Track Record
Demonstrates a proven ability to influence senior leadership at executive level, lead cross-functional transformation programmes, and deliver measurable improvements in both business and safety performance. A strong track record in embedding safety culture and driving sustainable behavioural change across organisations is essential.
Skills & Competencies
Leadership, Communication & Stakeholder Impact
You bring strong leadership presence with clear and concise communication skills, but are equally capable to deliver simple and agile front-line technical coaching and training. Communicating effectively across all levels of the organisation by translating technical Health & Safety risks into clear business language, adapting messaging to different audiences, and using data-driven insights to support decision-making, is key for the success of this role. You can build strong relationships across functions, levels, and cultures, ensuring alignment and engagement in a complex, matrix environment.
Technical, Analytical & Collaboration Capability
Possesses a deep understanding of Health & Safety systems, risk management, and regulatory frameworks, supported by strong analytical skills to convert data into actionable insights. Works effectively within a matrix organisation, leading through influence and collaboration, and building trust and shared ownership to achieve common goals.

· Location: One of Lindt & Sprüngli italian sites (Induno Olona or Luserna San Giovanni)
· Travel: 40–60% regional travel required
· Languages: Fluent English required; Italian, German or French strongly preferred
