Job Description

Jamestown Family Health Clinic is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) to be the welcoming first point of contact for our patients. Schedule: Monday-Friday with occasional Saturdays (10:00 AM - 3:00 PM)

What You'll Do

As a Patient Care Coordinator, you'll play a vital role in supporting both our patients and clinic operations by:

  • Answering and routing incoming calls on a multi-line phone system while accurately taking messages.

  • Greeting patients and visitors in a professional, friendly, and courteous manner.

  • Checking patients in for appointments efficiently and accurately.

  • Collecting, verifying, and entering patient demographic and insurance information.

  • Scheduling appointments for more than 25 healthcare providers.

  • Scanning insurance cards into the electronic health record (EHR).

  • Assisting patients with general needs, including completing forms and other support tasks.

  • Collecting and posting patient co-payments and outstanding balances accurately.

  • Participating in clinic meetings.

  • Following all Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe policies and procedures, including safety standards, HIPAA compliance, and the Occupational Exposure Control Plan.

  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required (Associate's Degree preferred).

  • Minimum two (2) years of customer service experience required.

  • One (1) year of reception experience in a clinic setting preferred.

  • Experience handling cash/payments and operating standard office equipment.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, 10-key, and keyboarding at 40+ words per minute.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

  • Ability to successfully pass a criminal background investigation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Washington State Medical Assistant Certification eligibility for Level A.C.E.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and medical billing processes.

  • Strong time management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
