Accounting Manager – Tax & Treasury
Job Description
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager – Tax & Treasury Focus to support the financial operations of the business with an emphasis on tax compliance, treasury management, cash flow oversight, and financial reporting.
This role blends hands-on accounting responsibilities with treasury and tax functions while also providing leadership and support within the accounting department. The ideal candidate will be analytical, highly organized, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Tax & Compliance
- Support federal, state, and local tax compliance activities
- Assist with preparation of tax filings, schedules, and supporting documentation
- Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors as needed
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and audit requirements
Treasury & Cash Management
- Manage daily treasury activities including cash flow monitoring and banking transactions
- Assist with liquidity planning and cash forecasting
- Maintain banking relationships and support treasury reporting requirements
- Monitor cash positions and support working capital management initiatives
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analyses
- Assist in preparation and review of financial statements and variance reporting
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
Operational & Leadership Support
- Partner with operations and leadership teams to support financial decision-making
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies
- Provide guidance and support to accounting staff as needed
- Assist with implementation and maintenance of financial processes and controls
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience required
- Experience with tax compliance, treasury, or cash management functions preferred
- Manufacturing, industrial, or recycling industry experience preferred
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience is a plus
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- ERP system experience required; Dynamics 365 preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with financial analysis and reporting tools preferred
