Overview

The Junior Consultant – Sustainability supports the delivery of sustainability compliance and green building certification requirements across construction projects. Working under the guidance of senior team members, the role assists with LEED, Estidama, Al Sa'fat, and other sustainability certification processes through documentation reviews, site inspections, reporting, stakeholder coordination, and regulatory submissions.

Your role

  • Support project teams by communicating sustainability requirements, certification goals, and project progress.
  • Assist in reviewing design drawings, specifications, material requirements, and sustainability-related contract documents.
  • Prepare and maintain sustainability documentation, trackers, and KPI records.
  • Support the review of subcontractor pre-qualification documents and specialist credentials.
  • Review sustainability plans, procedures, reports, and monitoring trackers submitted by contractors.
  • Assist in evaluating energy simulations and sustainability-related technical reports.
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and MEP/Civil engineers to support sustainability compliance.
  • Review technical material submittals, shop drawings, and supporting calculations for compliance with project sustainability requirements.
  • Liaise with contractor sustainability representatives on routine sustainability matters.
  • Participate in sustainability meetings, prepare meeting minutes, and track action items.
  • Assist in reviewing monthly sustainability progress reports and preparing updates for clients.
  • Support the preparation and review of submissions required for sustainability certification and authority approvals.
  • Participate in sustainability audits, site inspections, and assessments, documenting findings and corrective actions.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor implementation of sustainability requirements.
  • Assist in preparing monthly project sustainability reports and project deliverables.
  • Support QA/QC compliance and sustainability monitoring activities on site.
  • Assist in tracking non-conformance reports (NCRs), non-compliance incidents (NCIs), and site inspection notices.
  • Support material inspections, testing activities, and verification of compliance with project specifications.
  • Contribute to technical reports, presentations, and sustainability assessments.
  • Conduct research on sustainability products, technologies, materials, and industry best practices.
  • Support sustainability awareness initiatives and knowledge-sharing activities within project teams.
  • Assist senior consultants in business development activities and client engagement opportunities.

About you

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.Eng., B.Tech., Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Architecture, or related field).

  • 1–3 years of experience in sustainability consulting, green building certification, construction, or a related field.
  • Fundamental understanding of LEED, Estidama, Al Sa'fat, or similar green building certification frameworks.
  • Knowledge of sustainability principles, environmental regulations, and construction practices.
  • Experience supporting sustainability documentation and certification submissions is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with sustainability assessment tools, reporting, and data tracking.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good report-writing and documentation abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • LEED Green Associate, Estidama PQP Candidate, or other sustainability-related certifications are advantageous.
  • Willingness to learn and develop technical expertise in sustainability and green building practices.
