Job Description

THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Finance Intern reports to the FP&A Director on the FP&A team. As a Finance Intern, you will work closely with the Finance team to gain practical, real-world experience in corporate finance. Through mentorship and hands-on projects, you will develop your analytical and organizational skills while learning how financial data, reporting, and leadership presentations support business decision-making.

This internship is full-time, fully onsite, Monday through Friday, at Silvus Technologies’ HQ in the heart of vibrant West LA.

ROLE, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND LEARNING OUTCOMES:

Strategic Analysis & Presentation Support

  • Presentation Refreshing: Learn how senior leadership presentations come together by regularly updating and refreshing recurring financial slide decks, charts, and tables.
  • Data Inputting: Build fluency with financial reporting tools by accurately inputting financial metrics and analytical insights into PowerPoint slides and presentation templates.
  • Data Gathering: Develop your research and organizational skills by helping the FP&A team gather, organize, and prepare financial data from various sources for cross-functional initiatives.
  • Reporting Assistance: Practice turning raw data into clear takeaways by helping prepare summaries of financial information and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for review by senior team members.
  • Ad Hoc Projects: Broaden your exposure to different areas of finance by providing administrative and analytical support on special projects as requested by finance leadership.
  • Taking on other related duties as they arise as additional opportunities to round out your learning experience.

Data Preparation & Quality Control

  • Data Integrity: Learn the fundamentals of data validation by helping ensure financial data is accurate before it's included in final reports and presentations.
  • Formatting & Quality Assurance: Sharpen your eye for detail by helping ensure all presentation materials maintain a high standard of visual clarity, formatting consistency, and accuracy.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • In-progress Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree in Accounting, Economics, or other related fields.
  • Foundational knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint, with a sharp eye for formatting and data presentation.
  • A strong analytical mindset with a high degree of attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, or U.S. Permanent Resident) due to clients under U.S. federal contracts.
  • All employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check and drug testing.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Prior experience creating or editing business/financial presentations for group or academic projects.
  • Prior coursework or exposure to basic corporate finance concepts and financial statements.
  • Previous internship or leadership experience in a professional or academic setting.

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Office environment.
  • Indoor air-conditioned facility.
  • Lift equipment, up to 20lbs., for set-up of demonstrations.

COMPENSATION: $24.60 - $31.70 / hourly [in-progress Bachelor’s degree]

COMPENSATION: $42.10 / hourly [in-progress Master’s degree]
