Director of Pharmacy

Reports to a Senior Vice President, Patient Care Services and is responsible for directing the hospital's Pharmacy program in accordance with laws relating to the storage, compounding and distribution of medications.  Regularly contacts pharmaceutical vendors in order to obtain bids and/or negotiate prices.  Establishes department purchasing parameters and oversees acquisition, storage and inventory maintenance of pharmaceutical medications and supplies.  Establishes and maintains record keeping systems for recording patient charges and maintaining adequate controls over requisitioning and dispensing of all pharmaceuticals.
