Job Description
Responsibilities/Essential Functions
Ensures company’s adherence to all payroll related local, state, federal, and Canadian tax.
Reconciles all quarterly and Annual Tax return in the Dayforce
Dayforce tax processing experience.
Submits and enters all prior period adjustments and current period adjustments.
Manages all Stock tax entries.
Manages Escheat entries.
Manages award (monetary and non-monetary) tax entries.
Files all returns not cover by Dayforce.
Manages Multi Jurisdiction Tax set up for all employees.
Verifies and validates all tax set up at employee level.
Knowledge and understanding of local tax set up and reciprocity between states and local agencies.
Updates all minimum wage rates, as applicable.
Updates all SUI tax rates into Ulti Payroll and validating rates are updated with Ulti tax department.
Researching all Tax notices for prior and current years.
Manages Canada Tax returns.
Research and reconcile tax deposits and filings. Respond to agency and Dayforce tax related inquiries.
Reconcile, prepare and distribute W-2s.
Manage preparation of year-end postings including fringe benefits.
Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the activities enumerated above.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Strong time management and communications skills are required to keep on task and work collaboratively in a team.
Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency.
Ability to exercise sound judgment when prioritizing requests under tight deadlines.
Strong sense of accountability and proactive learner.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Detailed oriented.
Experience/Qualifications:
Dayforce/tax reconciliation experience preferred
At least two years of relevant experience.
