School Profile

Founded in 1880, Immaculate Conception Parish School and Preschool serves more than 480 families and over 820 students. The school employs more than 100 dedicated staff members, including administrators, office personnel, classroom teachers, resource teachers, special area teachers, teacher aides, and support staff. Immaculate Conception School fosters a “community of one Spirit in Christ Jesus,” dedicated to fulfilling the mission of Catholic education in the Archdiocese of St. Louis and serving the needs of its families.

Job Responsibilities

Immaculate Conception School is seeking a faith-filled, certified Elementary Teacher (Grades K–4) who is committed to academic excellence and the mission of Catholic education. Under the supervision of the Principal, the teacher is responsible for fostering the intellectual, spiritual, social, emotional, and physical development of students in a Christ-centered learning environment.

The ideal candidate is a mission-driven educator who values collaboration, builds positive relationships with students and families, and contributes to a culture of faith, respect, and excellence within the school community.

This is a salaried, exempt position governed by an annual employment agreement.

Job Requirements

    • Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based instruction aligned with curriculum goals and Archdiocesan standards.
    • Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, faith-centered classroom environment that promotes student growth and achievement.
    • Integrate Catholic teachings, Gospel values, and character development into daily instruction and classroom activities.
    • Assess student learning through a variety of formative and summative measures and provide timely feedback to students and families.
    • Differentiate instruction to address diverse learning styles, abilities, and needs.
    • Establish positive classroom management practices that foster responsibility, respect, and self-discipline.
    • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, assessments, and student progress.
    • Communicate regularly and effectively with parents and guardians regarding student achievement, behavior, and classroom activities.
    • Collaborate with grade-level teams, support staff, and administration to promote student success and school improvement.
    • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, school events, and faith formation activities.
    • Model professionalism, integrity, and Christian values in all interactions with students, families, colleagues, and parish community members.
    • Uphold all school policies, procedures, and expectations of the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

       

      Qualifications

      • Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related field required.
      • Valid Missouri teaching certification required.
      • Elementary or middle school teaching certification required; mathematics specialization preferred.
      • Practicing Catholic preferred and supportive of the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church.
      • Strong instructional, organizational, communication, and classroom management skills.
      • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and families.
      • Commitment to continuous professional growth and lifelong learning.
      • Collaborate with grade-level teams and school staff to support student success
      • Participate in school events, professional development, and faith-based activities
      • Uphold school policies and model positive behavior and professionalism
