The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Pavement Engineer to take a leading role in delivering high-quality, practical, and cost-effective pavement solutions across a diverse portfolio of major infrastructure projects.

In this role, you will apply your deep expertise in pavement materials, design methodologies, and construction practices to develop innovative and technically robust solutions for road and highway projects. You will be responsible for producing and reviewing detailed pavement design packages aligned with Australian standards and best practice.

As a senior member of the team, you will contribute to technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate closely with clients and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

Please note this role could be based in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth or Adelaide

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality pavement designs, including calculations, reports, and technical documentation

  • Undertake pavement analysis and design for road and highway infrastructure projects

  • Select appropriate materials and develop cost-effective pavement solutions

  • Review and verify design outputs, ensuring compliance with Australian standards

  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and graduates

  • Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to support project delivery

  • Lead small project teams and manage allocated work packages

  • Support site investigations, field inspections, and construction phase services where required

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Proven experience in pavement engineering, particularly for road and highway infrastructure

  • Strong knowledge of Australian pavement design standards and methodologies

  • Proficiency in industry software such as CIRCLY (PLAXIS desirable but not essential)

  • Ability to deliver and review detailed technical designs with sound engineering judgement

  • Demonstrated experience managing projects or leading small teams

  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage effectively with stakeholders
